What are Piles?
piles or hemorrhoids are a swollen collection of veins and tissues in your anus and lower rectum. Piles vary in size and can be located inside or outside the anus. Piles situated at 2 and 4 centimeters above the anal opening are known as Internal Hemorrhoids. The ones found on the outside edge of the anus are known as External Hemorrhoids
Symptoms of Piles
- A hard, painful lump around the anus.
- The bowel may feel full even after defecation.
- Discharge of bright red blood with stool.
- The area surrounding the anus feels itchy and sore
- Pain during defecation.
Symptoms of Gallbladder Stone

What’s an anal fissure?
A little tear in the thin, moist tissue (mucosa) lining the anus is known as anal fissure. An anal fissure may develop at the time of passing hard stools during a bowel movement. Anal fissures typically cause painful bowel movements along with bleeding. One may also experience spasms in the anal sphincter.
What are the symptoms of anal fissure?
- Pain, during bowel movements
- Pain after bowel movements, lasting up to several hours
- Discharge of bright red blood along with the stool after a bowel movement
- A visible crack appears in the skin around the anus
- Development of a small lump or skin tag on the skin near the anal fissure
What is an Anal fistula?
An anal fistula is a tunnel connecting an infected cyst in the anus to an opening on the skin surrounding the anus. When small glands that produce mucus inside the anus get clogged and infected, it forms an abscess or cyst.
Symptoms of Fistula
- Frequent anal abscesses
- Swelling and pain around the anus
- Drainage of bloody or foul-smelling pus from an opening around the anus. Pain may decrease after the drainage.
- The skin around the anus irritates upon drainage
- Pain during bowel movements
- Bleeding
- Feeling fatigued and suffering from fever and chills
Symptoms of Hernia
- Belching
- Heartburn
- Nausea
- Chest pain
Large hernia symptoms can worsen upon lifting heavy objects, leaning forward, lying down, and during pregnancy. In some rare cases, the portion of the stomach that herniates into the chest cavity may get strangulated, causing:
- Severe chest pain
- Obstruction of esophagus
- Difficulty in swallowing (dysphagia)
